1.     Job Purpose

 

·      To proactively lead, manage and deliver commercial and research projects

·      To write high quality reports and support dissemination activities of HSSMI’s work

·      Generating Intellectual property for the company on programs

·      Leading the commercial team in marketing, developing commercial proposals and leads

·      Represent HSSMI in the field of expertise

·      Support junior roles in the specified technical area

·      Develop strategy for area of specialism

·      Writing of research bids to ensure sustainability of the team

 

2.       Principal Accountabilities             
·       Working with clients, internal stakeholders and third-party suppliers to define requirements on projects 

·       Responsibility for leading and managing projects and keeping up to date and delivering projects and assigned tasks to budget, quality and time

·       Supporting development of research proposals, contributing to consortium building, and project management

·       Delivering industrial research around new technologies

·       Confidently presenting new ideas and concepts to stakeholders or to the wider public

·       Supporting commercial team on marketing and leads generation

·       Protect and Exploit Intellectual Property on programs

·       Develop strategy and influencer map for area of specialisation

 

3. Knowledge & Experience Essential/Desirable
·      Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant discipline or relevant industrial experience. D

 

·      Practical experience of working in manufacturing

·      Knowledge of Lean manufacturing & manufacturing process improvement

·      Knowledge of Sustainable manufacturing & New Product Development

·      Knowledge of Circular economy principles and impact on manufacturing

·      Value stream mapping and waste management knowledge
