1.    Job Purpose


HSSMI are seeking to expand their commercial team with the recruitment of a dynamic, focussed and experienced Strategic Sales Executive in their Stratford, London office. To secure the commercial success of HSSMI as a growing and developing business, the ideal person will need to establish strong customer relationships to help drive and deliver commercial targets, ensure the commercial offering remains leading edge and attractive, develop and execute sales strategies for key customers and work alongside the delivery teams to scope and deliver winning proposals. The Strategic Sales Executive will also work alongside the marketing team to drive the overall marketing, communications and events strategy in their region to increase revenue. This represents a fantastic opportunity as the role holder will be given the platform to represent HSSMI amongst key leaders and decision makers from within the manufacturing sector.


2.      Principal Accountabilities       
·         Act as the key strategic interface between the customer and the business

·         Develop the commercial offering for HSSMI in their region

·         Maintain and present weekly/monthly sales figures and forecasts

·         Work with the delivery team to scope and monitor projects

·         Plan programmes and projects for Strategic Partners to support their ambition in relation to their own objectives – gain confidence of the Partners to build commercial work

·         Define HSSMI’s service offering

·         Develop a list of target customers

·         Participate in lead generation activity

·         Scope and write commercial proposals

·         Present and explain proposals to the customer

·         Design, lead and follow up on strategy days for Partners

·         Translate leads into opportunities and drive high levels of closure

·         Hold brainstorming sessions to identify solutions to meet HSSMI’s clients’ objectives and work with client stakeholders to get their buy-in

·         Liaise with both senior management and technical team members within customers and establish productive, professional relationships

·         Assist in defining best practice for the usage of HSSMI’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system

·         Take responsibility for their own and their team’s tasks and outputs

·         Protect and exploit arising intellectual property

·         Contribute to new regional and national business opportunities and pitches

·         Disseminate knowledge to Partners and other stakeholders

·         Attend events and activities to support HSSMI’s engagement with local stakeholders

·         Ensure compliance with internal processes and procedures


3. Job Context
Due to rapid growth, HSSMI require someone that is ambitious, driven, commercially-minded, and used to working in a fast-paced environment. Similarly, they will need to be creative in their thinking and articulate in their approach. A concept of innovation would be beneficial, and a proven sales background is essential. 4. Knowledge & Experience Essential/Desirable
·         A minimum of five years proven sales experience and knowledge

·         Considerable, demonstrable experience of negotiating at Director level

·         Relevant manufacturing or engineering knowledge

·         Excellent consultative sales skills, proving the ability to understand client’s needs to drive opportunities to closure

·         Financial acumen and experience of sales forecasting

·         Workshop design and facilitation

·         Used to working under pressure

·         Strong project management skills

·         A flexible approach to cope with frequent change

·         A high level of motivation, initiative and creativity

·         Excellent written and spoken English

·         Ability to present concepts to a wide audience

·         Extensive sales experience in a B2B role

·         Proven experience of presenting to large audiences (30 people +)

·         Experience of working with a CRM

·         Relationship management at C-Level

·         Detailed understanding of a typical sales cycle

·         Leadership skills including ability to maintain strict confidentiality

·         Full, clean driving license
