PERSEUS | RECENT PROJECT
Perseus aims to develop UK expertise in equipment and tooling needs through the development of a flexible ICE/EDU manufacture strategy. Simulation tools and flexible facility design will enable the consortium to explore scenarios linked to changes in volume, layout, cycle times, component design and operations. The project will also create dedicated training courses to upskill UK engineers in EDU manufacture.
E:PriME | RECENT PROJECT
The aim of the Electrified Powertrain Pilot Line for Manufacturing Engineering (E:PriME) project is to create unique capabilities for ultra-high-volume manufacture of next generation powertrains. The consortium consists of the manufacturing engineering and machine tool builder supply chain of these new powertrains with the aim to develop new processes and test them at rate whilst integrating new manufacturing concepts based on Industry 4.0.
DISCUS | PAST PROJECT
DISCUS (Drivetrain Integration & Supply Chain Upscaling and Streamlining) supported the acceleration of low carbon propulsion technologies to the market by strengthening the UK’s supply chain for a motor drive system and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV). The project conducted a supply chain streamlining and upscaling study which identified how costs can be reduced, suppliers consolidated, transportation optimised, and supply chains made more robust.
HVEMS | PAST PROJECT
HVEMS aimed to create an experimental “Make-Like-Production” facility for electric traction motors, with a takt time corresponding to high volume production. The facility enabled JLR and supply chain partners to investigate manufacturing and assembly methods, identify the new manufacturing processes required to make electric motors at high volume, and understand the trade-offs between product performance and manufacturing cost time.
