HSSMI, the independent institute collaborating with manufacturers, academic institutes and solution providers to support innovation in the manufacturing sector, is today announcing a new partnership.
2degrees, the world’s largest community for sustainability professionals, has joined HSSMI as an Innovation Partner. 2degrees brings together business leaders, brands and their manufacturing suppliers, policy experts and academics to cut costs, risks and environmental impacts through cross-industry collaboration and innovation.
HSSMI and 2degrees would like to combine their technical expertise in the following areas:
– Virtual, digital and supply chain
– Generation of strategic initiatives
– Exploration of new commercial activities
The initial step for this collaboration is to develop a feasibility research project to build on capabilities of 2degrees’ M2030 tool. However, the two organisations have identified many other potential research and commercial opportunities to explore over the next year, including:
– 2degrees engaging with HSSMI’s network to support sustainable manufacturing
– HSSMI engaging with 2degrees’ network in several areas including Digital Twin, immersive training and Supply Chain and Digital Readiness Levels (SCRL & DRL)
– Developing cross sector initiatives
Simon Barnes, Commercial Director at HSSMI, said: “We are delighted to have 2degrees as HSSMI Innovation Partner and are excited to develop mutually beneficial projects that will result in rebalancing the UK economy towards manufacturing.”
Allen Shaw, Executive Director at 2degrees, said: “2degrees is really excited about the new partnership with HSSMI. Our efforts – circular value chains, data analytics for resource efficiency, and new technologies in manufacturing – are so well aligned that we believe we can have a real impact by working together.”
